Fees
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy/ Personal Development incorporates a mental health professional and an equine specialist. Depending on your insurance and availability, as well as availability of providers, our mental health professionals may be able to directly bill your insurance or provide you with a medical receipt, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Medical receipts can be used for in-network and out-of-network providers. We accept all major credit cards but prefer check or cash for the primary clinician assigned.
Insurances accepted include:

- First Choice Health Network (including some Kaiser Permanente plans)
- Tricare
- US Family Health Plan/Tricare
- TriWest
- Aetna
- Cigna
If insurance is billed, it is possible to have a "facility fee" billed separately from the Mental Health services that covers the cost of an equine specialist and the use of the animals.
Grants & Scholarships
We are grateful for the support of multiple grant programs through which the full cost of sessions may be covered for Military members, Veterans, and their families who are unable to be covered by insurance or other programs. Please contact us to discuss eligibility and process for these programs.
We have been supported enormously by grant funds from Pierce County, and are proud to have provided EAP services for hundreds of eligible Pierce County residents who may have otherwise been unable to access these transformative sessions. We are hopeful that additional funding from grants in the future will enable us to continue this kind of access to EAP.

Private Pay
Our sessions last approximately 50-55 minutes and the cost is $150. Session fees cover licensed mental health providers, trained equine specialists, and of course the essential care of our therapy horses and maintenance of the facility.
Our group rate is for 55 minute group sessions and is $50 per. Discounts are available for registering for a full group series.
Scheduling

Session availability will depend on what type of services and specialization you are seeking.
Typically, clients begin with regular weekly sessions that occur at the same day/time each week, unless otherwise arranged. Some clients benefit from a brief series of 8-10 sessions, while others work with providers longer-term. Let us know what style of services work best for your schedule and needs.
Your first session will be a more traditional intake evaluation with your mental health provider and equine specialist. Once your provider has gathered your history and developed a treatment plan with you, you can expect to spend the full length of the session out with the horses.
Please be aware that we conduct sessions out with the horses year-round, rain or shine! Wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear.
