Dr Michelle Garner

Dr. Michelle Garner Associate Professor of Social Work Dr. Garner MSW, PhD, LICSW, ACSW, EAGALA Certified, is an Associate Professor of Social Work at the University of Washington Tacoma, is an affiliate of Horses Guiding Humans.  She teaches clinical therapy skills and theory to graduate students in the social work program.  Dr. Garner has had a life-long love of horses that has led to her professional exploration of them as fitness, wellness, and healing partners.

She serves on the EAGALA Research Committee, is active with the NW EAGALA Network and other Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) type programs, and is care taker to an opinionated mare.  Dr. Garner conducts and consults on EAP/EAL therapy and research.
